What you learn with us
Metalworking from the ground up – right in our production hall
During your 2-year apprenticeship, you learn the hands-on fundamentals of metalworking. You are right there in the thick of it, getting stuck in.
3core areas – your apprenticeship combines fundamental metalworking, assembly to drawing and safe machine operation.

Metalworking from the ground up
You learn the fundamental techniques such as cutting, bending, drilling, filing and grinding various metals and components.

Assembly of components
You join individual parts into mechanical assemblies according to technical drawings, which are later installed in our track-laying machines weighing up to 84 tonnes.

Machine operation
You learn how to handle modern tools and fixtures safely, maintain your equipment and take charge of quality control on the workpieces you produce.

What is the difference from the Industrial Mechanic?
The apprenticeship as a Metal Technology Specialist is designed to last 2 years and is extremely hands-on. The Industrial Mechanic takes 3.5 years and goes even deeper into maintenance and control technology. The brilliant part at L&S: after the 2 years, you can simply upgrade and add the Industrial Mechanic on top!
Do I get my work clothing and tools provided?
Yes, absolutely! Right at the start of your apprenticeship, we fully kit you out with high-quality work clothing and your personal protective equipment. In our production, you work exclusively with professional high-end tools.
How does the support for the exams work?
We will not leave you alone with the material. Our experienced master craftsmen and technicians take the time to practise hands-on techniques with you and prepare you intensively for both the theoretical and practical final examination.
